My name is Alex Giubelli and I am currently a journalism student at Concordia University in Montreal. I specialize mostly in Television and Radio journalism, but have been writing articles for my own blog for a time now. I am fluent in French and English, and have a standard knowledge of Spanish and German. Just like my tagline says it, Films, Food and Sports are my passions, and what I concentrate my journalism skills on.
Film
The industry of movies and films is something that always attracted me since a young age. I started as a little five year-old girl who wanted to be to be actress, taking acting classes and finding an agent, to graduating in Cinema to become a director, to finally finding myself many years later getting another degree in Journalism. Movies are a major part of my life, I love watching them, talking about them, analyzing them… Movies, movies movies. Seriously I can honestly say that my whole life revolves around them. I was lucky in May 2013 to get an internship at the Cannes Film Festival, and worked there for the duration of the whole festival, learning a tremendous deal and enlarging my knowledge of the movie industry.
Food
Well who doesn’t like food, right? Cooking and baking hold a very special place in my heart, and I try to practice it everyday. Really if I wouldn’t have found myself in the journalism and movie world, I would have probably ended up being a chef. I try to take on writing food and restaurant reviews as much as I can for my fellow foodies, also just doing my own dishes and posting them for the world to enjoy.
Sports
That is a surprising one isn’t it? Kind of doesn’t fit in with the others. Well, I just can’t leave it out because it is a huge part of my life and my community as well. I was born in raise in Montreal, Canada and for those of you who don’t know sports here is not just a hobby, it’s a religion. So I was raised in a world where hockey rules above almost everything. As years made me more aware though, I developed loved for many other sports such as tennis, Formula one and figure skating. I did apply my love for sports with my journalistic skills, writing articles for newspapers, and was even Sports Editor of my University Newspaper for a while.
